IDA is a contemporary Design agency based in Sydney Australia. For 15 years the directors of IDA have worked together with clients across the globe and have a wealth of experience in successfully delivering design and innovation to some of the world’s leading brands. In 2012 they formed Industrial Design Alliance (IDA) to continue bringing this experience and expertise to the market and are already making an impact with their fresh thinking and innovative design solutions.

Tim Rugendyke 

Tim started his design career in the automotive industry after graduating from the University of Technology, Sydney with a degree in Industrial Design. Tim brings a wealth of experience to the IDA team and plays a key roll at the front end of design projects, setting creative direction with his highly evolved skills in Ideation, Concept Development, and Styling. Accompanying these skills are his experience and knowledge in human factors and manufacturing, which allows his designs to be grounded in the real world. Tim has 25yrs experience in all aspects of Transport Design. He has worked with some of the world’s largest rail manufacturers and operators, including UGL, Hyundai Rotem, EDI Downer, Alstom, China’s CRRC Corporation, and has been extensively involved in rail projects on most continents. Along with large manufacturers, Tim has also created award winning designs for low volume manufacturers such as the Alonge Hearse. With over 20 design patents to his name, Tim also carries a solid portfolio of product design and has worked with international clients such as Energizer, VeriFone and Scan Pan. Tim has also co-authored the E-Book “How to Draw Cars” along with instructional videos on rendering cars in Photoshop, been a jury member of the Australian Good Design Awards, as well as an occasional lecturer at the University of Technology, Sydney. Angelo Kotsis 

Angelo is an award winning industrial designer, with over 15 year’s experience in the design industry in both product and transport design. Angelo was a design director for Design Resource and Transport Design International before co-founding IDA. Angelo specialises in Innovation, strategic design, product image, styling and project management. Angelo has extensive experience in working closely with clients from all around the world to successfully deliver products and projects for international markets. He has worked on hundreds of projects in a variety of fields and has over 40 patents to his name.  He has the proven experience and passion to deliver projects from initial idea through to production and commercialization. Angelo was the designer of the Eveready Dolphin MK5 Lantern (Award winning design and the  world largest selling Lantern). His products have been featured in exhibitions at the Powerhouse Museum and part of the ‘Powerhouse Museum collection’.  Angelo has also served as a judge for the Australian International Design Awards (student award and transportation design).

Jason Bennett 

Jason is an Industrial Design professional with over 16 years of relevant experience relating to consumer product design and Transport Design. Before moving back to Australia Jason spent 10 yrs working in Hong Kong for Global Brands as well as SME’s, giving a deep exposure to manufacturing in China. He has worked for many global rail manufacturers and global consumer brands and has been involved with all aspects of design from conceptual development, project management to engineering liaison. His skills include styling, ideation, CAD development, 3D Surfacing, 3D Presentation Rendering, Project Management, user interface design and ergonomics, and client liaison.
