Industrial Design Alliance recently celebrated its 10th birthday! Over the last 10year we have designed 23 trains for both local and international markets, ranging from high speed trains through to metros. In parallel to our transport design division, we have designed numerous consumer products and medical devices for domestic and international brands. We are grateful for all our clients and partners, and thank them for their support and faith in us, The journey so far has been a privilege!

The New Intercity Fleet of double deck trains for NSW has been officially launched by NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian. At the launch, the name for the fleet was announced as being “Mariyung” which is the Darug word for Emu, and acknowledges local Aboriginal culture.

Some nice raw footage of the first New Intercity Fleet cars arriving in New South Wales. The first sets are currently undergoing extensive testing on the Sydney network in preparation for entering into service later this year. IDA led the Industrial Design for the interior and exterior design.

Energizer has recently added two new portable lights to its 2019 line-up; the Vision Lantern, and the Multi-Function Light with Fusion Technology. Both were designed and detailed by IDA in Sydney.

The design process for TfNSW’s New Intercity Fleet has been heavily focused on user group testing and feedback – this video gives a great overview of the user engagement process for passengers with disabilities.

The IDA designed CRRC Next Generation Subway Car concept has won the MTA Genius Transit Challenge award in New York.
